What's a great way to celebrate the 1st July long weekend in Winnipeg?

I'd love to do something really fun over the long weekend, but Countryfest isn't an option. So I'm looking for some other alternatives, I'm a 26 yo guy, and don't know too many people in the city as I'm new! Any suggestions appreciated! :) Thanks
