What's a hardy flowering annual that grows well in Northeast OH?

I've got bachelor buttons and daisys but they take over whatever plot I put them in, so I want to replace them. Thanks.

um I'm definitely not a flower expert but i live in Cleveland and my house has a bit of a garden...

we have rhodedendrens (sp?) that do really well in the shade behind our house but that's more of a bush...

my neighbor has had luck with zinnias but i think they are perennials...gosh I'm not much help..

butterfly plants are really pretty and do well (as well as attracting butterflies..

yeah i would say the garden store people probably know what will do well!
