  1. OMGGGGGGGGGG....The rice cakes look fantastic.... I'm in Australia and we don't have that brand here pleassssssssssssssssse send me some......

  2. Roast some sweet potato or parsnip strips, very lightly brushed with oil.

  3. Nuts!

  4. if you slice potatoes very thinly (using a potato peeler or a grater attachment), you can bake them in the oven instead of frying and make your own, healthier crisps.

I love crisps too - they're great with sandwiches.  I've tried veg crisps and apple chips and all that stuff but unfortunately only potato crisps do it for me!

You can also buy some oven cooked crisps now so they might be worth looking out for.

Lastly - corn snacks can sometimes be lower in fat and cals.  Where I live we get some cheesy puffs, a bit like wotsits (I'm not sure where you're from but guessing you're from the UK as you call them crisps and not chips - apologies if not!) and they're half the cals and fat as regular crisps.

oooh, and very lastly - how about Skips?  I think they're lower in fat too.

  5. take lasagna sheets - boil them til cooked

    cut into large triangles

    lay on a baking sheet

sprinkle with sea salt and cayenne pepper (or other seasoning of your choice)

    make great dipping chips

  6. Snac a jacks

  7. apple chips

  8. Nuts are good.  You can bake tortillas and they're low fat.  Use a little cooking spray on them.

  9. lotus root crisps are really tasty but I've only had them at japanese restaurants.

Lightly pickled veg are a tasty lo cal thing to munch on.

If you're trying to avoid snacking on crisps then you might need to address what you're eating at yr main meal - is it balanced?  Are you getting enough energy?  Are you eating breakfast?  Crisps really offer nothing of nutritional value.

  10. Last week a chef at work sliced carrots on a bias very thinly. Then he soaked the slices in ice water for a few minutes. He served them along side of hummus, like crackers. I don't like hummus, but on a carrot cracker it was pretty good.

  11. Raw carrots, celery, nuts

  12. Try parsnip crisps.  They are lovely and healthy.  I especially loves the sea salt and black pepper from M&S (I am not affiliated with Marks and spencer other than being the occasional customer).

  13. Be careful with Apple Crisps - any form of dried fruit typically has a lot of added sugar.

My favorite are RICE CAKES!  They come in a variety of flavors too: chocolate, caramel, toffee, plain, cinnamon.

  14. Hi,

A lot of places now sell vegetable crisps, which are healthier as they're baked not fried. Or try making your own popcorn, just leave out the salt or sugar.

  15. Apple crisps!

They don't taste that similar, but they're delicious, I make them often. Try this recipe.

Alternatively, you can buy them at most supermarkets.

    Hope this helps x

  16. Ryvita or bran crackers.
