  1. Washington...there are a lot of trees and its known to snow HARD there. Waterville, Washington is sunny but has cold winters

  2. I live in Chicago area, I still have leaves in my yard from last fall, and I raked 3 times last fall; I live in the woods. Last winter we got close to 90 inches of snow for the whole season. Rake in the fall, shovel in the winter.

  3. Almost anywhere in New England there are lots of trees, and very cold and snowy in the winter

    Try Barre, Massachusetts

    Laconia, NH

    Rutland, Vermont

    Northhampton, Massachusetts

    Oxford, Maine

    Berlin, Massachusetts

    Royalston, Massachustts

    Berlin, NH

    Montperlier, Vermont

    Union, Connecticut

  4. Consider northern New England...i.e. northern New York, New Hampshire, and Maine.  Not sure how big a city you want, but maybe consieder Saranac Lake, NY or Lake Placid, NY both in the Adirondack Mountains.

You can see by the google satellite map that it is pretty forested around these areas (http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=44.29... )...and these areas average over 100 inches of snow a year, with even more occurring on the mountain peaks.  There are a lot of ski resorts in this area.

  5. New England
