  1. Could you please reword your questions to make some sort of sense?

  2. The military is the political and legitimate means by which business people and land owners can protect their possessions.

The political and ideological systems of government necessary for protecting possessions of its more wealthier body politic also legitimises the concept of 'pre-emptive defence'; that is to say that the definition for defence wanders into the definition for aggression where the victim is re-assured his loss of life is due entirely to the advance planning by his neighbour who thought he might be planning a attack and who attacked him first so that he could not execute his plans.

The military, as defined by its icons and historical narrative of heroism,  is a profession whose roots are traceable back to Old Testament thuggery.

I know exactly what you are trying to say. Bertrand Russell, a British philosopher in 1917, touched on the same question about legitimising violence when he made a link between desire and law 'where ethical metaphysics become fundamentally an attempt, however disguised, to give legislative force to our own wishes'. - taken from Scientific Method in Philosophy.

The legal framework in which the military operates with impunity is based on some very dubious philosophical and religious premises that are more to do with protecting the elite than anything else.

At a more fundamental level of survival The Law is written for the benefit of the elite and the military is primarily the personal army of the elite, the elite in industry, commerce, finance and property ownership. Ijn other words, the rich and famous.

Soldiers are abused by their respective organs of elite power who get them to do their dirty work for them while they expand their little empires. They get medals, official recognition in memorials and museums but what the f is that to the millions who suffer fatalities?

Good question. Confusingly phrased but pertinent to the question of who writes laws for whom?

  3. What are you trying to say?

  4. What are you on about??

  5. "The Military" refers to the armed forces. Sometimes it's used (incorrectly) to refer only to the army. If you're suggesting getting rid of the military, you're suggesting pacifism. Few countries have tried it and really the only country to do it successfully is Costa Rica. This Central American country abolished its armed forces in the late 1940s. Since then it has been one of the most peaceful and successful countries in the area. But it could only abolish its armed forces because it had no enemies and no territorial disputes.

For the rest of the world it's not so simple. Until all disputes are settled worldwide, there will be a need for armies, air forces and navies. We can live in hope that some day it will be possible but realists realize that it's not possible yet.

  6. Do you mean what is a militia?

If so a militia is a civilian alliance of men bearing arms for some purpose - to restore law and order; overthrow a corrupt government; ensure the establishment can keep its hands clean and blame an anonymous militia when brutality is needed.
