  1. While shaving it would reduce the chance of hairballs, I think your cat might disown you.

You can give 1 teaspoon olive oil (any vegetable oil- other than corn) once a week. This acts as a lubrication and helps keep things moving.  It will also contribute to a shiny coat and healthy skin. If you can find it avocado oil is awesome.

    edit:

The furminator is an awesome brush and they have a pretty good knock off at bed-bath-and-beyond for arond $15 (my PETCO connection filled me in on that tidbit)

Oh yes, by the way you can mix the oil into her food.

  2. They have medication stuff you can buy, you don't have to go to a Vet for it, you can get it in stores. The only kind I ever used for my cat was this gel type stuff. You squeeze a bit of it onto their paw, and when they see they can't shake it off, they l**k it. It seemed to help him. You said natural, so I'm not sure if you're wanting to use medications. There is this wonderful, amazing pet brush called the "Furminator" it removes a pet's lose fur and some fur from their undercoat. It really is a terrific brush. This would probably cut down on your cat's hairballs. Though it is a bit expensive, around $30 at Petco, but you can find it cheaper online. You can go to youtube.com and see videos of this brush being demonstrated, it's amazing!

  3. Shave it.
