  1. If you're downtown, try Sweet Lulu on Queen St. West (east of Trinity Bellwoods park). It's a noodle house, and you get to pick your own ingredients, so you "design" your own dish. The place is small, but very cool interior and good service. A bit loud though, but it's a good, relaxed-yet-hip place to go on a Saturday night. Prices are great too.

  2. Try Spring Rolls, it's not Uber Fancy, but the food is great, the prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is good.

  3. The pickel barrel is really nice. And it's not too expensive.

  4. One of the best mediterranean / italian food places is called The Oregano Grill in Etobicoke at Burhamthope and Dundas (almost at the corner, Northeast corner).

My friends and I have been going there for 11-12 years now. Best pasta anywhere. Ask for Andrea or Andy - the owners.

The decor is really nice and warm. You can check it out on the web at www.oreganogrill.com

or if you want something downtown I have another friend who owns the Kit Kat at King and John St. Ask for John Carbone the Owner and he can set you up. 416-977-4461..they have a very cool atmosphere and great desserts!

If you don't order an expensive bottle of wine with dinner then you would be under $40 a person for sure.

They both have great food and awesome decor. Very warm and inviting.

There is free parking in the back for Oregano's but you'll have to pay for parking at the Kit Kat.

Cheers! Let me know how it goes.

  5. Mansion Keg

    515 Jarvis Street

    Toronto, Ontario

We eat here when we go to Toronto... my kids have claimed to have seen ghosts in the bathrooms.  Food is 10 out of 10 and it's great for group, couple or friends who are trying to get their foot out of their mouth!!!  (hint)

  6. Go to the Keg..the one by St. Lawrence Market is a renovated mansion.  Beautiful.

  7. The absolute best restaurant is the OLD SPAGHETTI FACTORY down by St. Lawrence market near union station.  They have alot of really nice past a dishes guaranteed to fill you up.  Also the prices are very reasonable.  About $13-20 a meal + drinks.  The atmosphere is amazing.  You can eat in really cool old telephone booths, by an antique carousel, or on an old trolley.  They also have a gift shop and arcade and a seperate bar.  This is nice because if you have to wait to be seated you can grab a drink and they come to get you when the table is ready.

  8. The Pickle Barrel, I only know of one location which is Sherway Gardens, but I'm sure there's lots more.

  9. Jack Astors, Alice Fazooli or Milestones... all relatively cheap, good ecclectic food, and good atmosphere for a night out with friends... they all have cool bars within, as well.
