I would like to crochet a gift for little kids of those ages. I'm relatively new at crocheting. I've followed some patterns and even figured out a simple one of my own. What's a good idea for a gift for each of the following that's not TOO complicated and doesn't take too long to crochet?

2 month girl

6 month boy and girl

1 1/2 year boy

2 year girl

2 1/2 year girl

3 year boy

I just hooked one of these up.  the pattern says 3 hours but it takes a bit more considering your gauge and possible resizing.  see baby-its-cold-outside (crochet pattern)  a one piece cardigan sweater  at www.crochetme.com the pattern easily adapts to different sizes.

Balls.

Crocheted balls that can be machine-laundered.

The coarser the thread/yarn, the quicker the piece may be

completed.

They can be stuffed squooshy or stuffed firmly.  Squooshy is more friendly.  Hard-stuffed can be like a temari ball, an art-form.

For a 2 month old, I would go with hats, onsies, booties,  or blanket. A small blanket would be good for any of these ages.  You might be able to even find a pattern for small stuffed toys.
