  1. Pendulum period in seconds

    T ≈ 2π√(L/G)

L is length of pendulum in meters

    G is gravitational acceleration = 9.8 m/s²

    Length for 1 second = 0.248 m

A pendulum is a weight on the end of a long arm free to swing back and forth. It's used in clocks, as the rate of the swing is dependent only on the length of the arm.
