What's a "farmhouse" pizza?

Question

I've heard this referred to a few times on answers. What's that mean exactly?

Forgive me... I'm from NYC and we dont have many (or any) farms :P

I live in farm country and I had to look it up.  Doesnt sound good at all.  Sounds nasty.

Farmhouse Pizza Ingredients:

1 1/2 x basic pizza dough

4 tablespoons olive oil

2 garlic cloves, skinned and crushed

1 cup mushrooms

large can chopped tomatoes, discard half of the juice

mozzarella cheese, thinly sliced

baked ham, cut into strips

anchovy fillets, drained

black olives, halved and stoned

chopped, fresh oregano

salt and pepper to taste

I have never heard of it. Maybe it is a breakfast pizza, with scrambled eggs, bacon , sausage and onion. Who knows?
