  1. The height of the pole or tower. If there is a fence around it stay outside the fence.


  2. The safe distance from a high tension power line depends on the voltage on the line.

    Any power line carried by poles or towers is well above the minimum safe distance, so if you have a power line near to your residential area, it will be well above anything that could cause a flashover, provided of course that you do not build anything up towards the cable.
