What's a shaft?

I brought my go-kart to a shop to get fixed and the dude told me if won't run because the shaft is broken. What's a shaft?

Could be a lot of things, theres many 'shafts' on a go kart, maybe the drive shaft though? Transfers power from the motor to the wheels.

Crankshaft is inside the engine, Axle shaft goes to the drive wheels & makes them t**d,(holds them on too) steering shaft is from steering wheel to front wheels. all kinda important.

shaft(ed) can also be due to bad deal.

I think someone should shaft him then he will learn what it is.

Axle shaft(wheel attaches to it) or engine crankshaft ( pulley/clutch or other mechanism that attaches engine to axle)

if it wont run, then its pobably a crankshaft or even a small camshaft. if the actual motor runs but the cart wont go, its the driveshaft.

if you don't know what a shaft is than you shouldn't own a go-cart
