So recently, I started drinking Japanese sake, and I have to say I like it very much so far.

So I was wondering, what kind of snacks and foods go well with sake? I've heard food with high proteins, vitamins, and fibers are good for both taste and prevention of hangovers, but any personal suggestions?

  1. Everything goes with sake.

  2. I like salted nuts and bite size fruits like strawberries.

  3. I agree that sake goes with almost any food!  Sashimi and sushi go well with warm sake.  Other than that, grilled salmon, grilled chicken wings, deep fried brie, tuna & potato salad, deep fried soft shelf crabs, garlic prawns, stir fried assorted vegetables with garlic and ginger, chicken + ham and egg fried rice, ... etc.

And potato chips, roasted almonds, hazel nuts, peanuts, wasabi peas, beef jerky, ...., roasted dried cuttle fish / squid, pocky, etc.

  4. Oko-no-mi-yaki, of course!

  5. Try edamame.  It's Japanese, salty and tastes great.  I've never had it with sake, but it's definitely worth a try.

  6. SUSHI
