Can someone explain to me the united states postage stamp system? I have never physically mailed anything in my life. Why do stamps vary from 2 cents in value, to 49 cents in value? Does this mean that their order of importance gets priority to arrive on time?
I mean, it's just a sticker. Cant you just fake it? Some stamps are ink stamps, so aren't those easily susceptible to printing duplication?
I recently tried to mail something with a stamp that just says 2 C on it. Is something wrong with it? the stamp has a date of 2004. I'm totally out of touch with the system.
