I'm reading throughn some school book and it came up and I was interested and finding out what it is but the dumb glossary doesn't give much details in the definition. Can someone plz explain?

  1. basically it just's a needle that's been cleaned to kill any bacteria    

    or germs on it, so there is no risk of infection when it is used.

    The needle must be sterilized to prevent the introduction of viable bacteria or viruses that may be present on the needle during its manufacture or storage.  Sterilization can be by many methods, including toxic gas (ethylene oxide usually) or by autoclaving (high steam pressure).
