I think that a lot of bright colors are in and black. Also a lot of people wear like pink. A really good brand is Nicole and i personaly think that i workd really good and stays on for a long time and it is also pretty cheep. The brand, Nicole, also has lots of varites. You can get it from Target or Wal Mart.

idk about u but i love funky colors, i recently bought lime green polish from walmart that wasnt expensive at all the brand is pure ice in a squareish bottle, i also use black, purple, and teal, i love colors, also try white as a base and put different color polk a dots on them , i did it and loved it, its great for toe nails too, its so cute, just get creative, but any brand of polish will work u dont have to spend a lot of money on polish i dont

Colors that are "in" for this fall are deep, shimmery shades.

Plum, bronze, deep blue, crimson red, etc.

basically these type of colors, but with more of a shimmer to them.

Just look around Wal-Mart or Target and find some shades like these.

This is a great nail color especially for toes in the summer/fall and fingers in the fall.  It is a really flattering shade for pale and dark skin tones.  It is Covergirl Boundless Color in Perfect Penny.  You can purchase it at CVS or any grocery store.
