  1. By saying "finish", do you mean  "just to complete it" ?

They are tons of "sudoku solver" online or

software downloads to help you just doing that.

But why do you want that?  (trick answers at the bottom)

Do you like to play or just want to "finish" ???

I guess you are really asking:

Is there a "super effective way" to play sudoku?

No, if this is your real question.

There are some "effective" ways, almost all the so called

"advanced techniques" are effective ways, they are

patterns condensed from sequence of "if then then ..."

scenario.  But they can only be effective after you practice

enough to recognize them fast enough.  The effectiveness

actually is depends on you (the player) rather than the

technique, of course, after you learn about those techniques.

    Which techniques are more effective???

It really depends on each individual abilities and also

types of grids.  The bottom line is,

there is no super technique and

NO, there is no super effective way to play sudoku.

    Back to the original question,

    there are some trick answers:

    1) Not playing. (so it finish before it even started.)

    2) Pick "super-easy" grids.

    3) Copy them from solution-sheet.

    4) Using online or software help.

    5) Basically, just cheat !

  2. Through patience, good luck grasshopper, don't give up.

  3. Often you get a different perspective with sudoku if you switch focus frequently.  For example spend a couple of minutes focusing on the 3 x 3 squares, and then change focus to solving the rows, and then to the columns.  I find that strategy works very well, as each time you place a number, something else is then made easer.

Also look for situations where for example there are two spaces left in a row and you know immediately that there are only two numbers that can fit in those spaces.  In that situation I always write both numbers lightly in the top of each space until I know where each goes.  Knowing that information often makes it easier to place a few other numbers.

I always start by looking for spaces for all the 1's, then all the 2's and so on, and go through all 9 numbers at least once.  Then I switch focus.  Usually you cannot solve sudoku quickly using just one strategy.

Here are a few links you should find interesting and helpful.

  4. Just find a row or square with the most numbers already in it and go from there. dont put a wrong number in make sure the number you put in is write because you will have to go all the way back to fix it so be careful
