I'm joining the Army NG and I want to know what a normal day in basic training is like? What time do you wake up? What do you do first? How does the day start and finish. Be as specific as possible. Thanks!

  1. Wake up at 7. You're PC (Platoon Commander) will tell you what you're doing. You will normally get into your PT kit go on a run, get back, get showered up. Then you will have a couple of lesson's then back out doing more PT. You're day normally finishes at 5-6 depending what you've been doing. Day's pretty much consist of either PT or Lesson's.

  2. If I can remeber I went to basic in 1986, we got up before th drills came to get us up because we had to shine our boots back then and needed time to get everyoen showered and the gilrs would not take a quick shower so we lal had to get up at 0300 or 3AM. The drills got us up at 4AM, we did PT, maybe ran two miles at the most (I ran six miles at the most in my unit, but your going reserves and if they do PT at your reserve unit, I doubt if they will run six miles) and push-ups and sit-ups, then an hour for showers again, and then chow, like shovel that chow down as fast as you can becuas eit was going to be hurry-up and wait all day long, then sick-call for those that needed it, then training or classes or Basica soldier classes or the range or how to throw a gernade, stuff liek that. Maybe the gas chamber. Then lunhc, again...shovel it in as fast as you can, and more training and then dinner, and time to practise sit-ups (when the drills went home) and push-ups and shine boots. On weekends we could go to church and wash cloths and they even allowed us to watch a military movie as well, but my hubby said they did not take his PLT to see a movie...no wait, maybe that was just reception, I know I was in AIT and our drills took us to DC and to an auquarium in maryland, our drills were cool in AIT.
