  1. vegetarians don't eat meat, vegans don't eat any animal based products, including dairy and eggs.  either group may also refuse to use animal based products like leather or silk.

    Veganism

    NO red meat, fish, poultry OR dairy, eggs, honey or any other animal by product. Veganism usually extends beyond just avoiding consuming animal products. It is a philosophical and or ethical point of view which, aims to minimize animal suffering by eliminating the use of all animal products such as leather, fur, wool and silk and avoiding products tested on animals.

    There are also many other variations of these diets. Like raw vegan, fruititarian, organic vegetarian/vegan. But the ones listed above are the most common.

    Semi-vegetarians, Pescetarians, Pollotarians and Flexitarians are **NOT** vegetarians, they are are omnivores.

  4. Actually, vegetarians, by the definition not only don't eat gelatin or wear animal products, they don't use anything that KILLS the animal.  They will drink milk and eat unfertilized eggs because animals are not killed in this process.  

    Vegans will not consume the above plus milk and unfertilized eggs.  They are completely animal product-free.

  5. a vegetarian will not eat any sort of meat or poultry but will eat eggs and dairy. a vegan sticks strictly to fruits and vegetables and nuts. some of them do eat fish b/c they dont consider it meat. a flexitarian will eat any sort of poultry except red meat
