  1. if your playing in a bar or whatever, ask him if they recognise the girl at the bar, when they turn around place their ball tight against the cushion/impossible potting position.

However, i dont cheat, and that will play in your head, and when you miss a shot, you'll think it is karma, miss the next, and you may as well go home. CHEAT. lol

  2. I think the only ways you can cheat are the following:

In straight pool someone can miscount intentionally.

When making certain shots the Q ball leaves the surface of the table, intentionally done by shooter, to get around a ball, it is hardly noticeable, I am not talking about jumping a ball to get to the object ball, I am talking about the Q, being off the surface of the table slightly, just to clear the ball in the way.

This is illegal, as the Q is not supposed to leave the table, but it may not be called a foul by a judge, because it is a matter of opinion, wether it left the surface of the table or not.

EDIT-Pushing the Q, is also illegal, as this can make another ball, the object ball, that is touching the Q, actually turn, left or right, Just enough to make an otherwise impossible shot.

Using left english it makes it go right, and right english it makes it go left.

EDIt-She is talking about ways you can cheat in pool, she is not talking about fouls. Yes if you foul and get away withit it may be considered cheating. When you play and you don't watch your opponent, you are the fool not him, if he fouls, you call the foul, and tell him what the foul was.

  3. Break any rule and not get caught point blank is cheating

Dont try it Ive seen it all before

  4. Go to the BCA (Billiard Congress of America) website for a complete listing of the general rules of pocket billiards.  In this section, you'll find all the different types of fouls that can be committed.  There are two main categories of cheats.  The first involves committing one of the aforementioned fouls and trying to get away with it unnoticed.  The second involves "sharking" techniques.  To shark someone means to do something to distract your opponent while they are shooting in order to make them make a mistake.  It can involve making noises, putting something in their field of vision, having aggressive or intimidating body language, verbal taunts and threats, etc.  M.D.-BCA Instructor/Referee.

  5. If you are playing a match without a referree, you can cheat by not admitting when you have violated a rule.  An example would be if you accidently touched the cue ball on a practice stroke & then continued as if you hadn't.  You could also move a ball if your opponent wasn't paying attention (in the bathroom, at the bar, on the phone).

A lot of players will 'shark' their opponent by intentionally trying to distract them.  In leagues & tournaments this may be considered cheating as well.  Leagues may also have specific rules about equipment, so using a cue that is too short, too long, or too heavy may also violate the rules.
