  1. A writers strike is when a writer hits you!

  2. A writer's strike is when writers go on strike; they stop working over some professional grievance.  It affects the Riches because no one will write their scripts and the actors have nothing to say without a script.

  3. all usa tv/movie writers belong to a Union ( or guild)-- they have a Contract with the tv/movie studios-- when the contract is up they negosiate  a  New contract-- if they sides cannot agree then the Union can call a strike

last yr the Union had a strike lasting 6 weeks- during that time No scripts were wriiten and it closed down most every scripted tv show/movie set. No writers= no scripts = no new episodes.

The writers wanted a % of the Online $$- they were getting Zero from Offical downloads like at Itunes or at the Network's website

  4. A writers strike is when writers refuse to do their job of writing the script of the story. No story, no show. So, basically, the show comes to a halt,or in some cases, it's canceled. i mean, no one expects to have a show without a story now.
