  1. Daycares usually go through the age of 12. Preschool isn't required to start kindergarten and isn't actually necessary. Helpful yes, necessary no. Kindergarten starts at the age of 5.

  2. Day care is just that "Day Care" for the working mother and father while they work. But there is good news to this as well in that we are seeing more and more at home moms opening up their homes and hearts in the name of GREAT care not just simply care.  Always investigate ANY care giver completely and ask for references and you eliminate the possibilities of ending up in your own personal nightmare. Make sure you call every ref. given and be prepared with questions you want answered. (ex. what form if any do you use the discipline a child)  Preschool is again what it is school before the real thing.  All preschools should have a fun curriculum which is shared with parents for their approval after all we are preparing them for school.  The great part about both day care and pre-school can be seen immediately by any teacher in that this is one of the best places for your child to learn social skills which is so important to how well your child does with other students going forward. We all love our children and want to protect them but allowing them to grow as who they will be is impairitive by learning these simple skills.

Day care usually starts at 2 years of age and runs right in to kindergarten. Mothers Day out programs are the same but are only for three days a week (Great if you'er sampling the waters.) Pre-School should be all about prepareing your child for school and will start at 2 years as well.

In the state of Tenn. age 5 is the start age for kindergarten with the birth month cut off being May.

As far as necessary I personally have seen many a student who was ill perpared for kindergaten because the parent felt she knew what she was doing. And the child was in a imnature state but not for his / her age so could attend but normally these children have to do it again or will be held back due to this accademic inabilities based mostly on that very important window of education.

I'll close with this as your exsample...Did you know a child has the ability to be multi-lingual before he / she reaches the age of seven? Whats that say about how much a child can learn before kindergarten?   With your concern you have for your child your child is destend to be a great success. Good Luck. (P.S you'll always be his/her #1 teacher.)

  3. daycare preschool goes up to 4 and @ 5 they start kindergarten.some don't go to preschool they just go straight to kindergarten.my daughter started preschool @ the age of 3 and went a second years @ 4 and now she is in kindergarten @ 5.

  4. Not all kids go to pre-school, but I personally think it's a great idea. It gives the child a sense of what the environment will be like, and makes starting kindergarten easier. They will start learning how to do some things on their own, and might even have an easier time making friends in kindergarten.

Kids usually start kindergarten at around 5 or 6.

and (in my case) the steps I took growing up was: preschool, then kindergarten, then elementary.

I never went to daycare, so going to preschool before starting kindergarten was very important for me!

  5. Although it is not mandatory, preschool is highly recommended for children to acquire social skills (interaction with other children and adults other than their parents in order to learn respect & courtesy) and general classroom rules (like listening, following directions/instructions, sitting still, and the rest of a regular structure of a classroom).  The usual age for preschool is 4 years of age.  Kindgergarten is usually for 5 year olds (but you will need to consider the cut-off birthdates for the school system, as well as the maturity level of the child).  Sometimes, an immature 5 year old will do better in school if they are allowed to stay in preschool one more year and start kindergarten when they are 6. Nowadays, the kindergarten curriculum and standards are far more advanced than they were even 10 years ago.  There is a lot of pressure on kindergarteners to know much more than to wash their hands after they use the bathroom, tie their own shoes, color inside the lines and write their first names. Now they are actually introduced to pre-algebraeic mathematics, cursive writing, reading, and computer keyboarding.

  6. After preschool is kindergarten. Usually a child is 5 years old  to attend kindergarten. Kindergarten is the first year of elementary school- then 1st grade, then 2nd etc....

  7. Daycare consists of all throughout elementary also, rather, it can but, preschool starts at about 5(usually restricted to b-days before Aug. 1st, and they progress by how much they learn.

  8. i don't think it is necessary but i would suggest it to anyone it helps you child get use to what they may expect in kindergarden and most kids end up loving it and children should start preschool at the age of 4 or 3 those are what ages most people send there kids to preschool i mean i went to preschool when i was 3 and i went to preschool for 2 years i loved it and i watch kids and i help out when i can in preschools

  9. Preschool can be really beneficial for children. It helps them develop important social and emotional skills. Not only does preschool help children with academics but it provides opportunities to learn to sit for designated periods of time and learn other skills such as turn taking. Personally I think it is really important for children to have at least one year of preschool. If you have a lot of time to work with your child on academics at home and they are getting plenty of interactions outside of the home, then you may choose not to enroll your child in preschool. Most children begin kindergarten at the age of 5. Most schools require that a child turn 5 before December to begin kindergarten.

  10. Kids usually start kindergarten when they are 5 years old. You don't have to put your kids in preschool if you don't want to but, it will benefit them, they'll have a head start from those who just start in kindergarten.  Children can start preschool as early as 2 years old.

  11. Preschool isn't nessacry as far as i'm concerned, but it's very helpful. Kids learn how to get along with other kids and behavior stuff which is very useful. And they start kindergarden when they're 5 or 6.

  12. Kindergardens are usually  five years old, preschool helps children get use to the idea of being away from mom and dad. It prepares them for the work they are going to start on in school.
