What's an easy way to make trees for a children's camp play?

I have a bare bones budget but need trees for our play. What's the easiest way to make trees that WILL STAY UP on their own? Give me as many options as you can think of so I can pick what will work best with my resources. Thanks!

Im not sure, but if you are using fabric or a soft substance for the trunks, i suggest putting wire inside to hold them up.  You could also try lots of paper mache (spelling?).
