For a project I need to plan an event. It's all on paper so it doesn't totally matter. The examples she gave are golf tournament and charity event but those have been over done in her glasses. Any other ideas? What are some types of events?

Thanks for any help!

  1. Children's Make a Wish event.

    Clean up your neighborhood party.

Bakesale and garage sale for a women's shelter.

Bottle and can drive for the local Boy Scouts/Girl Scouts.

Bake and garage sale for your local homeless shelter..

  2. Bake sales and car washes have been over done as well.

How about a free concert, or a basketball tournament or organize a city clean up day or block party garage sale.

  3. *Casino nights are popular events-esp in areas where gambling is not allowed.

*Bachelor/bachelorette auction with local celebs as the "prizes."

*Lock in's at local kids musuems

*Wine & cheese events at art musuems

*Arrest event where people raise bail

    *Raffles for big ticket items

and, an extremely popular yet "tacky" event held by our local football boosters...

Cow pie drops.  Draw grid lines on the football field, sell lots and where the cow "drops" that square is the winner.  Our high school football team raises over $10K doing this super easy & cheap annual event.  All you have to pay is for the prize and the chalk to mark the field.

  4. book fair/book drive, art auction, bachelor/bachelorette auction, bake sale, auction (for spa days, mani pedis...), book clubs, wine tastings, casino night, international potlucks, bridal shower, baby shower, bachelor/bachelorette party, spa party, tapas party, singles mixer, moms night out, investment clubs, pool party, luau, kids bday, 50th anniv party....

My sister does this stuff alot and enlists my help, that's how I know!!

  5. Organize a press conferece, business meeting (complete with catering, dinner and entertainment after, hotel and air arrangements, etc.) , dog show, or bridal fair. All of these are relatively simple for "on paper" projects, but with a lot of facets you can add.

  6. How about an Employee or Athletic Awards Dinner?

    A 50th Wedding Anniversary?

    A debate between political candidates?

A welcome home party for a soldier?

A luncheon honoring volunteers (i.e. people who work for Habitat for Humanity all year).

A fund raising dinner (usually a theme event, for example "The Heart Ball" to raise money for the American Heart Association).

A benefit concert (like Farm Aid, etc.)

    Good luck!

PS - I was just listening to the morning news and got another idea for an event I bet your teacher has never seen before - a rocket launch!  The Space Shuttle is launching today and I know that they set up bleachers for people to come and watch.  You could plan that event on paper, adding pre-launch entertainment, refreshments, etc.
