What's another proof of legal status in U.S besides a passport?

I'm registering for driving school and I need a passport or another proof of legal status in the U.S but I just renewed my passport and I won't get it for another 4 weeks. Is there something else I can use instead ?

  1. Birth Certificate and Social Security card (better)


  2. Social security card / or / certified ( embossed stamp ) copy of your birth certificate.  You can get that from the county you were born in.

  3. Go to your states DMV website and see what they require! It should be what you need!

  4. US Birth Certificate or Naturalization Certificate.  

  5. The following are the only documents you can use if you have legal status in the U.S.

    Valid Passport

    Valid Nonimmigrant visa ex. H1, E2, F1, NOT B1 OR B2

    Valid I94

    Valid Green card

    U.S. Naturalization certificate

    U.S. Birth certificate  

  6. do you have a birth certificate, social security card, or other government issued picture ID?
