  1. fortnum and masons is very good also. and it is a little cheaper. the ritz is more money for the name. But stay out of chelsea area becuase that means you will be paying out the nose for something that you can get cheaper in other trendy area.

by the way london is probally the best city in the world and i live in NYC

  2. I don't think you can beat the Ritz.

  3. I'm hoping that everyone says The Ritz as my daughter bought us 'afternoon tea' as a Christmas present !

  4. I've been to the Ritz, the Savoy and Claridges, and Claridges is the best.  The Ritz is a close 2nd but I found the Savoy quite disappointing.

  5. Go for the Ritz, the Savoy is closed for refurbishment!

  6. PERSONALLY it has to be the RITZ every time.

  7. Dorchester

  8. The Ritz, just based solely on the Decor , which is brilliant for afternoon Tea, you will never regret going here, but will regret it if you don't

    Have a really great time

  9. I've been to the Ritz on a number of different occasions and its is very nice and I always enjoy it. I've never been to the Savory, but I know a few people that have and although they said that it was nice they prefered the Ritz. The only thing is when do you plan to go becuse you need to book early as the ritz gets booked very quickly, and you might not get the day or time that you want. Also I always find that having tea at 3.30 is the best time, but the 3.30 booking times get filled very quickly

  10. Well, I just turned 50 myself and all of them sound lovely!

But, I have to agree with everyone else and pick the Ritz.

2nd choice would be the Savoy.

Have a lovely tea party and good luck with reservations!

  11. It fills me with longing just thinking about afternoon tea at Fortnum and Mason in London.  The dining room was lovely, the food excellent and the service was warm and friendly although it was obvious that I was a typical tourist from New Jersey.  My friend and I were dressed down but there were ladies there with hats and gloves.  Where ever you go I am sure you will have a wonderful time.  Have a fancy pastry for me!  Jannie

  12. I've been to the Ritz three times - it's lovely.  I've not been to the others but know the Ritz gets booked up pretty quickly so you may want to book early on.  They will all probably advertise the menu on their websites so you could look.  Good luck and enjoy!

  13. Or dinner on the orient express? ;)
