What's better, being able to raise your own food or "power shopping"?

i am planning/looking for my own farm that will be large enough to own horses and some other animals.i am researching on how to raise and butcher animals; my question tho is, is it better to raise and butcher your own food or is it better to just learn how to power shop?

raising your own food. the industry uses pesticides and artifical perservitive that can herm your body.

Raising your own food - the horrors of factory farming, pesticides, and the cost of organic food is enough of a reason.

While not a good reason enough for you to start raising your own good, I always found it comforting knowing where my food is coming from and that the animals that will be butchered had the chance of actually being able to live.
