  1. jogging..... *yuck*.... it's good for people who like it but not for me, i bike it and do alot of swimming, i live near the surf so i'm down there nearly every day, even in winter, i tend to feel so invigorated after a couple of hours in the water, then ride home...small jogs might be ok but on a bike you can go alot further and almost anywhere you like

  2. biking up a hill on a bmx is good excise

  3. jogging is better because it gives your whole body a workout. cycling only works your legs. jogging is for everyone but depending on your fitness level, you should start jogging for around 30 minutes then gradually build for longer distances and prolonged time spent on jogging.

  4. i think biking would be way more fun than jogging....maybe jogging with an ipod ??

  5. personally i think biking will be better since you put less strees on the knees and ankles while still toning the legs. however jogging will also develop some upper body muscles too.

so my answer is biking and probably start at 30 minutes then slowly work up to a higher time that you could handle.

if you decide to jog i would say start at 20 minutes a session then work your way up from there.

  6. Contrary to what Sam C said, bicycling works out your entire body as well. I've lost 34 lbs since last September from just cycling. My recommendation is to do both. On days when you can't go far, jog. At least it will take you less time to do and you won't be doing it enough to really do any damage to your knees. I just started doing this a coulple of weeks ago as well since my shedule has been getting to the point to which i can't ride as frequently as I want to. It's great and I still get a good workout.

  7. I think that you should do the one you enjoy more than the other.

It's a lot easier to keep motivated that way, and be consistent.  You can ride a bike relaxed, or hard, as well as you can just walk or run.   What's important is that you keep constant and the best way to make sure of that is that you really like that activity.

In a way, you can do both, and probably that will help you if you cross train, since both activities bring something different.  And in part, jogging is cheap, or at least, cheaper than cycling.  If you buy a bike, it wouldn't be that hard to try jogging now and then.

  8. both good and i do both. i jog about 4k each day, mainly because i play soccer and i just dont "feel right" if i only bike. i bike on weekends when im travelling to my soccer game and when im going to my friend's house. so running is my main workout and i use bike for some transportation. i recommend running becuase it works on more part of your body. i recommend biking if you have ankle or knee problems since running on flat road is very stressing on ankle n knee. if u choose to jog, u should start of like 1k and build to 3-4k. if u choose to bike, ur definitely gonna do a lot more k and build more. i say go jog if u dont have no ankle or knee problems

  9. Well jogging only costs you a pair of shoes.  Bicycling is faster so you move more air and that cools you off more.  You can't coast when you jog and feel the air cooling you like on the bike when you stop pedaling.   Also the bike is not as boring because you travel farther.  Start out doing about 15 minutes 3x/week, then after 2 weeks increase the time every week until you are doing about 45 minutes.  When you can do it for 45 minutes increase your workout days to five.  We want to see you go for 45 minutes five days a week after you build up to it gradually.  Of course you can jog and bike to your own whim as you feel like it.

  10. i like biking better its better especily when you have a single speed mountain bike

  11. biking :)

  12. biking

  13. you could probably just do both or just any one you pick. there really isnt that big of a difference. in running it pretty high impact and you dont have to do such big distances. biking is comparatively easy but you have to go pretty big distances to get the same results. if youre goin up and down hills a lot then you should probably choose biking to get the best and fastest results

  14. biking , it causes less bone stress to your body , and assists in the cardiovascluar excersise which the body requires

  15. jogging is better exercise, because it uses more muscle. it exercises your heart more than biking as well. although i like biking a lot, because i like to go fast....... : )
