Question:

What's better, water filters that go under your kitchen sink or whole house filters?

I went to Sears and they had individual reverse-osmosis filters for under your kitchen sink that go for $2-300 that take $20 filters changes every 6 months or else they've got a central water whole home filtration system that costs $400 but is self-cleaning, does the whole house, and doesnt need changing for over 10 years. I want to have water be drinkable in the house and don't mind it just coming from the kitchen. But I could see my family and I flaking on changing the filters. But I'm guessing just one at the sink would taste better than one for the entire house.
