the fi btl will slam a mess load harder but the sub is mainly made for spl even with the cooling option they still have problems you would be better off getting 2 of the bls but you should be fine with the btl as long as you dont max it out for long periods of time

4 alpines but it does depend on what kind of amp your runnin if it has enough output if it sucks the your better off gettin 1 18" Fi BTL

Cone area will win that battle. even though the BTL is an SPL monster it cant compete with 4 12"s with comparable power. If i were you, i would get 4 12" Fi Q's, that will probably be less than the Type-R's and have much more output.

id go with the FI its a better built sub that would last much longer than the apline type r's
