  1. Put it in your computer and use encryption (cf. gnupg or pgp). Then it can be read even if your hard drive is stolen.

  2. obviously, if youre concerned about privacy, saving it in the computer would make more sense.

but at the same time, theres a lot more sentiment in keeping a diary, and most people dont go searching around for peoples diaries, ya know?

Personally, I would write it in a notebook, becasue I woudl like to go back and see how I wrote it and read it rather than sit at the computer and read typing. Also, if Im feeling upset I can quickly grab my notebook and jot down what Im feeling, its more complicated with a computer.

Buttt, thats just my opinion, and I dont want to be bias, because there are many reasons that saving it in the computer is good as well.

    I suggest balancing it.

    What would you prefer

the sentimental, easy to grab, more memories aspect.

    or

the very private, safe, technological aspect.

If you cant decide, dont stress out about it.

Its really not a huge deal, as long as you have somewhere to diary in :)

  3. A notebook can be found and picked up by anyone unless you lock it up somewhere.  Your computer is a good place until something happens and your hard drive or computer crashes.  You might want to get a secure usb flashdrive one that has a usb vault program.  Or use any usb flashdrive or hard drive and download USB Vault software from ZDnet downloads to encrypt your files and protect them with a password. Whatever makes you feel secure and comfortable so you will keep a diary is the important thing.

Here is a link to the USB vault software:

  4. Computer and password, cause No one will see it !

  5. well, i prefer notebooks, but i guess it would be more private on the computer.. but even then, what if your computer crashed and you lost everything? or, something of that sort, idk.
