The Folk Festival is an outdoor music festival.  All kinds of music, variety of food kiosks, dancing in the grass, peaceful happy crowd.  If you love music and outdoors (regardless of weather!), you will love the Folk Festival.  It is relaxing and enjoyable.

Folklorama is located throughout the city at many different indoor venues, like community clubs, church basements and halls.  Each location represents a different country.  They have entertainment, food and drink and handicraft displays from that country.  You buy a 'Passport' that gets you entry into as many as you can take in over the couple of weeks its on.  All food and drink costs are extra.  The entertainment is included.  

So one event is outdoors over 2 1/2 days and is mainly music.  The other is indoors over 2 weeks and requires getting to different locations and possibly waiting in long line-ups at the more popular ones.  It really showcases all aspects of each country.

Both are a wonderful time.
