I do 2 laps warm up, 3 miles run, 2 laps cool down everyday. I'm wondering would it be better to run 2 days then take 1 day off and repeat or should I go 5 days run and weekend 2 days off?

Also how much is too much when it comes to running? I'm trying to get up to 5 miles a day... so whats the max a person should do?

btw I'm 5'8 140.

  1. The workout you are doing right now sounds good. I would run 6 days and take 1 day off a week.

If you want to get up to 5 miles a day, I would keep doing what you're doing for a few weeks, then increase your mileage to a 4 mile run. Do two weeks of that, then go up to 5. I am running 5 miles a day currently and that worked for me. Increasing your mileage gradually also helps prevent overuse injuries.

    Good luck!

  2. If you are running less than 5 miles a day you will most likely not have a problem going 5 or 6 days in a row, I would bet that your body could easily handle 7 days a week.

    Good luck

  3. It all depends what you are trying to acheive! Your current running looks sensible and I would say do this session every second day with the day in between say 2 miles as an easy pace. One day off. As you feel better increase your 2 & 3 miles gradually not altogether.

There probably  is not too much running you can do, what ever you want although anything over 150 miles a week is more than enough. I trained for 12 weeks @ 120 miles for marathon running but that was after many years running. Training increase should be no more than 5 miles a week or 10% of your current training. The more training years behind you the quicker you can increase.

  4. the most ive done a day was 10 at once so ur fine there and it not good to take rest days but you can take easier days but dont stop a day completeley

    p.s.

im about the same size as you except i weigh 130
