  1. electric and gas appliances are the same. they both burn gas and trees from their source in order to run them and make them

  2. That depends on how the electricity is generated. If it is generated by burning gas (or any other fossil fuel) , then the gas kettle is better on both counts, as you don't have the generating loses, and therefore do not have to burn as much fuel.

On the other hand, if the electricity is generated from some "renewable" source, then the electric kettle might be better for the environment (but the gas one will probably still be cheaper to run)

  3. eletric kettle is better for enviorment but the gas is cheaper

  4. I would say a gas kettle is better for the Environment & probably cheaper. An electric kettle uses a heck of a lot of electricity every time it's boiled, more than you'd think.

  5. Gas is generally more efficient, and therefore better for the environment.  While natural gas and coal both come from the ground, more energy and resources are used in the retreival and transportation of coal and more power is lost in the production of the electricity and its transmission to you than in the piping of natural gas.

An electric water heater is typically 2 to 3 times more expensive to run than an electric one, for all of these reasons.
