What's better for working pecs/chest, chest press or fly machine?

I've been doing chest press routinely at the gym, and I saw a couple guys using the pec deck butterfly machine. Will I get better results resorting to the fly machine or should I keep with the chest press? What about a combination of both?

  1. i would recommend you do the flyes to isolate and pre exhaust your chest then for the chest press o add mass

  2. The chest press is better for building your chest muscles since it is a compound movement and involves more muscles, making the workout more intense.

The flye machine is an isolation exercise, specifically working out the chest only.  You should have both in your routine, finishing off with the flye, since it will be less intense and isolating your chest.

    Best of luck!
