What's better than Yahoo Groups?

I'm looking for a simple way for a group to communicate with each other, allow people to sign up, and still protect their email addresses. I've heard people report that signing up for a Yahoo group has increased random spam even though Yahoo says that won't happen. We don't need anything fancy, just reliable, easy to use, and private. Yahoo is none of those. Any suggestions?

Try Google Groups. I'm not saying it is better or worse. Just that it exists.

anytime you use your e-mail address, you're subjecting yourself to higher risk for spam. I belong to 21 groups and I have no spam issue. if this is an issue at all, it's not only a yahoo group thing, all groups; MSN, myspace, google will have the same issue.

yahoo does have features to help this that group owners can do. most who get alot of spam are in open membership groups.
