  1. Walking, plus it has all the same benefits as running.

  2. Definitely riding your bike. Unless you walk longer than you ride your bike :P

  3. riding ur bike besause its good exirsise and u can have some fun with it and its quicker then walking

  4. both are great but walking is exercise for the arms and legs and it burns more fat

  5. Cycling, it's easy or as hard as you could possibly want. Walking is what I do if I have a flat and no spare.

  6. bike riding... cus u actually get some fun going down those hills :P

  7. bike

  8. bike riding

  9. Depends on what you wish to achieve... ideally both have their own advantage and disadvantages...

Cycling is "better" in a lot of ways for weight loss, cario fitness, and general body health.....but only if you do it with a purpose. Just pedalling around slowly without working yourself isn't going to help out much. Overall, cycling will use more muscles than walking, but different muscles. This is why cycling and swimming are the two best activities for people in therapy or recovery.

Walking will strengthen your ankles, feet, and parts of your trunk muscles that cycling doesn't affect. It can also help with general balance. Flat walking and stair climbing use very different muscles in your legs than cycling does. I think if fitness and weight loss are your goals, you should do both of them. Just be happy with whatever exercise you do, so that you'll keep doing it!

  10. Cycling is superior in many ways. It offers a highly variable workout for easy to as hard as you like - far better than walking. It's a lot more fun which means you may do it more. It's easier on the knees than even walking. The only advantage of walking is you need almost no equipment and can do it almost anywhere. But, again it's a very limited exercise in terms of cardio, leg strength and calories burned. Even very out of shape, overweight people can cycle and they can build up time and intensity as they get fit.

Walking is highly over rated. Yes, it's better than sitting around but it's a limited, light-weight exercise intended for the couch potato crowd that doesn't like exercise. Cycling is good for the couch potatos as well as super fit athletes.

Finally, walking isn't nearly as good a work out as running - when runner tire - they WALK. Walking doesn't burn a lot of calories and doesn't work out your upper body. Where all these wrong ideas come from eludes me.
