I enabled DMZ in my router. Disabled windows firewall. Have no other firewalls or anything. What could be blocking ports then?

  1. There is a nice article on windows port, how to open /close a port. Please have look on that.I think it may help you.

  2. I hear Madagascar is having trouble with blocked ports aswell...

  3. Some ISPs block ports -- its annoying.  You can sometimes ask them to unblock them for you, but some ISPs can't fathom why someone would want to use their Internet for more than just checking e-mail and browsing the web -- if this is the case, time to get a new ISP.

  4. Not sure.  Some antivirus software includes firewall.  Try disabling any antivirus / spyware software you have running temporarily and see if the port status changes.

Instead of enabling DMZ, use port forwarding.  Just find the port you want / need to use and enter the IP address of the computer on the network you want it to end up at.

To check, open windows - run - type 'cmd' - in the new window type

    ipconfig /all

your IP address will be listed.
