Question:

What's causing my 2003 Xterra to overheat?. after driving it for 15 to 30 minutes, it starts to heat up.?

I've changed the thermostat, water pump, radiator, and stills overheat.

  1. check the fan... sorry but you have done the right things first thing would be thermo and the belts and hoses radiator... and really if you over heat one the thermostat most likely is bad again.. good way to check is remove cap and watch the coolant if it drops and raises then its working if it just keeps moving then its stuck open if it dont move but a little its stuck shut... which will cause it to over heat in a few minutes.. just becuase its new dont mean you have not overheat it and its now stuck again so try another one... if the pump wasnt leaking it was bad... and feel your hoses if they feel soft replace them should feel firm and best to have it look at by someone who knows cars


  2. maybe head gasket do a pressure check
