  1. They are called aspects. They indicate who planets relate to each other, or another way to put it, it shows how your planets are wired together.

    A conjunction are when two or more planets are so close that they are considered to be joined together in their affect. It could be an easy or hard aspect depending upon the planets and sins involved.

    A sextile is when two or more planets are 60º apart in the Zodiac, within a 5º orb. It is considered an easier aspect.

    A square is when two or more planets are 90º apart in the Zodiac. This is considered a hard aspect, and needs to be dealt with. Easier aspects flow more harmoniously.

    If the Sun is opposite the ascendant... well it means it is opposite the ascendant. That would be an 180º aspect. It could be easy or hard, depending...

    There is one other major aspect called a trine. That is 120º.
