Question:

What's considered a bad values (in diopters) for an astigmatism?

One of my eyes is -0.75, the other is -1.25, but I have no idea how that relates to the general population (not bad, average, worst than most, etc.)

  1. The numbers you are recording are diopters of astigmatism are mild. In ophthalmology, we record the numbers in (+) and optometrists record them in (-) but they mean the same.

    Astigamatism can range from a low of +0.25 up to +10.00 or more. Someone who has considerable astigmatism would present with a number such as +3.50 or more.
