What's considered a good age to start working?

i know a lot of teenagers who don't work, or maybe it's just me.

but some others that do, what kind of job can you start with as a teenager?

i know it's not that simple, because ive tried applying to places. & i never get calls.

Most places won't hire unless you are at least 16
