  1. You would have to check with your carrier to ensure you don't get in trouble with fees but normally it is outside your STATE.  Like I said.  Call your carrier to make suer you don't get slapped with a bunch of fees because you assumed something that they don't agree with.

It really depends on your carrier and what they define as your local calling area.  Typically, out of state will be long distance.  Typically, out of your area code will be long distance.  Often, a few surrounding near-by cities may be included in your local calling area.  If you are using a land phone, consult your White Pages phone book.  The local area calling zone is often defined in the front of your local White Pages phone book.

  3. My friend called me from Belgium once and it was suicide on my phone bill.

    But I called a friend from Texas (I'm from Connecticut) and I barely got a charge on my bill.

    It depends on your carrier and your fees.

  4. if you are out of your roaming area. but if your phone does not have roaming service.. then that would cost you long distance rates. so even before you make the call check the phone area code.
