What's cool to do in or near Mexico City for New Year's?

I'm gonna be in Mexico City with my wife for New Years (I live in LA, she lives in Mexico City while immigration drags /\$$ on paperwork), and am trying to figure out somethin cool to do other than ask her what we might do (she's from there). Anyways, if anyone has any tips or has done anything worth mentioning in that area it'd be cool to hear about it. Thanks!

If you've picked up some Spanish from your wife, check out the website for the local magazine Chilango at http://www.chilango.com/ for some suggested restaurants, nightlife and other outings.  Have fun!!!

lots and lots of places to go in Mexico City.

1) Zocalo (it will be packed!)

2) Bellas Artes (theatre)

3) Museo de Antropologia (one really amazing museum, you won't be dissapointed)

4) Chapultepec

5) Calle Revolucion (it will be packed too), but my goodness on Tolstoi street there is a place called "los panchos" my god man, the greatest tacos ever mMmmm it'll fill you up. Wish I was back there.

I'm from Mexico City and I miss it (been living in US for 16 years now). If you are really into history then you'd like it. You'll be standing all over it anyway ;)

Just go out to some restaurant in the Zocalo  Plaza.

watch out for the dangerous crackers!! ive seen alot of people get badly burnt by them (and i dont mean the slang term for white people)

Go to the Sky Bar (WTC) it has  agreat view.
