  1. dial up is as its commonly referred to, is dial up internet. it uses your plain old telephone line to connect to the internet. you would actually have to dial in to connect to your internet service provider,


  2. It,s basically just using a standard phone line for an internet connection and of course it is much slower than optical cable dsl or sattelite or wifi would be

  3. That's when your computer uses your phone line and if someone tries to call your line rings 'busy'.  And companies 'knock you off-line' when you're in the middle of something interesting.  I used to have it.  DSL is so much better.
