  1. pass the test your first time haha duh

  2. In all seriousness, it comes down to how much money you have and how much time you can devote to it.

I had an acquaintance whose flight school tuition was being paid by the Air Force. He as able to obtain his Private Certificate in about 6 weeks.

It takes a minimum of 40 hours instruction with an instructor (most people take about 60) during which time you must complete a ground school course, a written exam, a flight physical, and then finally your check ride. Most people average between 6 months to a year to complete their training.

Money is the reason most of us went fairly slowly. It makes it a bit more palatable. Plan on spending between 6 and 7 thousand dollars total for a Private Pilots certificate.

  3. The fastes Way is for you to get to your nearest flight school right now. Procastination is your biggest enemy. Also have all the money right up front. Around 6,000 Check/Cash. And just be a full time student.

  4. Since you didn't specify which license I'll answer with respect to the new Light Sport Pilot's Certificate.  There are several schools that offer a 1 or 2 week course.  You must pass the written before you attend and have a valid driver's license (or 3rd class medical).  The only thing that would keep you from finishing is weather.  All your flight time counts towards higher certificates and you could complete most of the requirements for Private Pilot on your own.  The only additional training would be ATC, Night flying and test prep for the checkride.

  5. Get a medical certificate, local sectional chart, the FAA books for the FAA written exam, and pass the written test before beginning flight training.

Visit local airports, arrange for flight instruction.

Schedule very frequent lessons and you can be certified as a Private Pilot in less than 6 weeks.
