What's fun to do in Cologne (Koeln), Germany?

I'll be visiting Cologne, Germany in December this year with my family. I was just wondering whether anyone has ever been there before, and if so, what are the cool and happening stuff in town? Where can I go clubbing, or shopping?

if you're going with your family, stop by at the cathedral and check it out. in the 'Altstadt' are lots of bars and places to go. Cool places to go clubbing and have fun are definitely 'Klappsmuehle' 'Nachtflug', 'Nachtschicht', 'Neuschwanstein' and 'Roonburg'. They all play R&B, Hip Hop, Pop aso.

Hi! I've only been there once and that was a long time ago in school... Here are some ideas take from the website:

Cologne cathedral with its two spires 157 metres in height, has been the city's most famous landmark for centuries and the most well-known architectural monument in Germany. It took 632 years until construction of the largest German cathedral was completed.

Especially the Römisch-Germanischem Museum shows a lot of relicts which attest the splendid past of the Romans in Cologne. and for example the visit of the Praetorium is like "an elevator trip back to Roman times". But also burial chambers and Romen towers can be visited.

Cologne is a city of churches. As in no other German city, twelve large Roman collegiate and monastery and convent churches are located in the confined area within the boundaries of the mediaeval city wall, churches which rank among the most important in Western Europe.

Various modern buildings are famous landmarks of the city. Great towers as the KölnTurm or the Köln Triangle are viewable long distance from the city limit. and the Rheinauhafen is is a true contrast between monument-protected environment and newest technologies. But there are more famous monuments in Cologne.

There's A LOT of things to do!! In december there will be the X-Mas Markets where you can drink Gluehwein. Then you can go shopping at the big shoppingstreets 'Schildergasse' and 'Hohe Strasse'. Clubs are open mondays till sundays, everyday.

Wed: Most gaypartys ;-)

Thur: Petit Prince (Raggae+Hip Hop)

Fri + Sat: All clubs open clubs from the top+Static,Theatro,Diamonds,TarmCenter,D... Klappsmuehle,Triple A.....and way more

There's also a big game-place with 4 floors called 'Giga-Center' where you can play pool, dart, car-races, black jack and more.

Or you can go to the different karaoke-Bars, like 'Caribic Bar' or 'Thai Royal'.

There's always something going on, just go to "Die Ringe" (Rudolfplatz,Friesenplatz,Zuelpicherplat... There are sooo many restaurants, bars, cafes, clubs....
