  1. Wind- So far Wimbledon has been a windy tournament weather-wise.

This greatly affects finesse players. More so than everyday players. A slight gust can lift a ball out of the court - especially if you are aiming for the tramlines.

This gusting benefits all court players and rattles other players.

Tennis tournaments are planned around the weathers

    atmosphere.

Britain's notorious weather means the British outdoor tennis season is the shortest of any sport played in England. All the major competitions are held in June and July.

Wimbledon is of course the country's premier tennis event. Its grass courts make for the particular type of fast tennis played there. And the weather plays a crucial role in the cultivation of the surface.

"the weather is one of the biggest assets we’ve got or one of the biggest hindrances we’ve got."

The weather influences the quality of the tennis played and can even stop play altogether. Taking tennis away from the weather would give us advantages but might influence the 'atmosphere of the tournament' for the worse. The weather and the way it interacts with the surfaces of play is what gives us the great variety of international tournaments.

  2. It wouldn't be Wimbledon without upsets!!!  It makes it more interesting.  I still think the top 2 men will reach the final though.

  3. Not as shocking as still having and English man in after the first two rounds!

  4. They got their @ss kicked. LOL. Good 4 Safin on his victory against Novak, and Roddick is gonna lose to Janko, so...I guess it's just Wimbledon. May the better win!

  5. this happened in the french to....all the favs are going going gone

  6. I know!! and now RODDICK is out!! Jeesh well, i predict a fed/nadal final .BORING!

  7. Yeah the upset bug is going around. Hopefully some good talent will be left towards the end of the tourney. Maybe two no-names will face off for it all. That would be different and entertaining.

  8. That's Wimbledon, it's known for upsets of favorites :)
