i pop my knuckles a lot, sometimes by bending the finger at the knuckles and inwards (towards the palm). a few month ago, when i was doing this to my middle finger, it hurt. i still do this and it sometimes hurts and i can actually hear a noise, like something tearing. what is it?

  1. eww that souded freaky.nasty idk lol but yeah if your not sure you should go see a doctor or something

  2. you probably over-extended the muscle or put too much stress. Let it rest for awhile! I know it's so addicting to pop knuckles lol, but in the long run, ur knuckles will thank you. If it keeps up, see your doctor so they can do an Xray and/or MRI.

  3. my middle finger does that too. even if i do take a break from popping them, it doesnt stop.

"If cracking is accompanied by pain, there could be underlying abnormalities of the structures of the joint, such as loose cartilage or injured ligaments. Some patients with arthritis (inflammation of joints, usually painful), bursitis, or tendinitis notice "cracking" sounds, or crepitus, with joint movements, due to the snapping of irregular, swollen tissues" - WEBMD.COM
