  1. Paulof gave you the correct answer.

The breakers at the panel need to be switched all the way off then back to the on position.

The GFI receptalces are the plugs that have a black and red button on them. Press the red "test" button, then press the black button. This resets it. There is probably a GFI receptacle in the kitchen, garage and every bathroom. And possibly your laundry area.

  2. If you feel comfortable with this, check your circuit breaker or fuse box. If it's a circuit breaker, it might be tripped. You need to reset it. You might want to call a certified electrician. Electricity can be dangerous.

  3. it is apparent that you have tripped the circuit breaker which also causes the GFI (Ground Fault Interrupter) to trip also. These are required outside or any where near water, in this case your kitchen and bathroom. These GFI circuits are sometimes run together depending on the electrician.

First reset the kitchen and bathroom breakers located in the main electrical panel. The tripped breakers will be in neither the on or off position but some where in between . Push them to the "OFF" position and the to the "ON" position. This should bring power on to both rooms.  Now check the GFI outlets in both rooms. GFI outlets have two small buttons in middle, one says "TEST" and the other "RESET". If the "RESET" button is out further than the face of the outlet simply press it until it stays in. If it doesn't reset then you should call a electrician to diagnose the problem.

  4. you tripped a circuit breaker

  5. Check all "GFI" outlets and reset them then check your breaker (turn all the way off then turn on to reset them)

  6. If you have tried to reset all the breakers in your panel box, and your electricity is still not working, one of your breakers may be bad.

First step, reset all the breakers (flip them all off, then flip them all back on)

If that does not work, you can get a replacement breaker at Home Depot for about 17.00.  They are easy to replace unless your breaker box is a strange brand or very old.

Just don't forget to turn off your main breaker before doing any work on your breaker box!!!
